BBQ Smoked Salmon with Jalapeno Popper Dip







Lots of people have a smoker or grill sitting outside that is not utilized enough. Here are two recipes that are perfect for a football watching weekend. 


Whether you’re hosting a late summer BBQ or just craving some culinary excitement, these recipes will add a delicious twist to your menu.


This dip is a crowd-pleaser, with a perfect balance of heat and creaminess that pairs beautifully with the rich flavors of the salmon.

BBQ Smoked Salmon Recipe


Ingredients


  • ●  1 lb salmon, cut into two 8 oz filets

  • ●  Gates BBQ Sauce Sweet and Mild

  • ●  1 tablespoon Olive Oil

  • ●  Gates BBQ Seasoning - Original

  • ●  2 tomato - diced

  • ●  1 garlic clove, minced

  • ●  Salt and pepper to taste

  • ●  One small container of Gates Coleslaw

  • ●  1 small bunch cilantro, chopped

  • ●  2 ripe mangos, pitted, peeled and diced

  • ●  2 tbsp lime juice

  • ●  Corn or flour tortillas for serving - If making Tacos


    SMOKER INSTRUCTIONS


  • Preheat your outdoor smoker to 225 °F.

  • Rinse the salmon filet with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  • Generously sprinkle Gates BBQ Original Seasoning on both sides of the

    salmon filets.

  • Place the salmon filets on the smoker, skin-side down.

  • Close the smoker lid and let the salmon smoke for 30-45 minutes, or until it

    reaches an internal temperature of 145 °F.

  • Brush the Gates BBQ Sauce onto the salmon filets during the last 10-15

    minutes of smoking, making sure to coat it evenly.

  • Once the salmon is fully cooked and glazed with the sauce, remove it from the

    smoker and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with slaw or coleslaw and enjoy!

Jalapeno Popper Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 4-5 fresh jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to your heat preference)

  • 1/2 cup crumbled bacon (about 4 slices)

  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Stir in the shredded cheddar, mozzarella, chopped jalapeños, crumbled bacon, and green onions. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  2. Bake the Dip: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish . Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and lightly browned on top.

  3. Serve and Enjoy: Let the dip cool slightly before serving. It’s great with tortilla chips, crostini, or fresh veggies for dipping.
