With Christmas right around the corner you may be asking yourself, what do I cook for the masses?! We just got through thanksgiving and not everyone may be wanting turkey again. While you could go fancy with Rack of Lamb or Beef Tenderloin… Don’t forgot old faithful - A delicious glazed Ham. Weather your hosting a party of 30 or are just wanted some sandwiches for the next day – this Coca-Cola Glazed Ham is the key!
INGREDIENTS
1 individual 10-12 pound bone-in, cured ham
1 extra large oven bag
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
1 large orange, cut into 6 wedges
1 can Coca-Cola
Fresh Herbs if you’d like!
INSTRUCTIONS
Using a sharp knife, score the ham in a diamond pattern making 1/4-inch deep slices.
Place the ham on its side in the oven bag set in a roasting pan.
Combine brown sugar and Dijon mustard in a small bowl and stir until thoroughly combined. Rub sugar mixture all over ham.
Place orange wedges in the bottom of the bag around the ham. Pour the coke into the bag.
Close the bag tightly with the provided tie.
Using a small, sharp knife, make three small slits in the top of the bag for ventilation.
Bake at 350 degrees for 2-2.5 hours or until browned and caramelized.
Remove ham from oven and rest, inside the bag, for 30 minutes before serving.
For this recipe please use a whole bone in ham instead of a spiralized ham. The sugar glaze will adhere better
comments I've received asking why you can't, I've received at least a dozen from people who did anyway and wrote to yell at me that their ham was dry and ruined. You're just going to have to trust me on this one.
