Sliders for the Win!

Chef Mike

Ham and Cheese Sliders

Irresistible bite-sized bliss with Ham and Cheese Sliders for the win! These mini sandwiches are perfect for any occasion – from game day gatherings to casual brunches.

1. Deli-style Ham:

Start with premium deli-style ham - turkey - or chicken. Choose your favorite variety – whether it's honey-glazed, smoked, or black forest ham.

2. Melty Cheese Magic:

Melted Cheese is a must - Opt for a blend of Swiss and cheddar for a perfect balance of creaminess and sharpness.

3. Slider Buns Brilliance:

Some people love Kings Hawaiian rolls - or check with the bakery section of the grocery store to see what is fresh. The foundation of any great slider is the bun.. Toast them lightly for a hint of crunch that adds an extra layer of texture.

4. Flavorful Sauce Surprise:

Elevate your sliders with a secret sauce – a mixture of Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and a touch of honey. This zesty blend will add a burst of flavor that perfectly complements the richness of the meat and cheese.

Serve these sliders at your next gathering, and watch out because they will disappear.

  • 12 slider buns

  • 1 pound deli-style ham, thinly sliced

  • 8 slices Swiss cheese

  • 8 slices cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Slice the slider buns in half, horizontally, keeping them connected.

  • In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and honey to create the sauce.

  • Spread a layer of the sauce on the bottom half of the slider buns.

  • Layer the deli-style ham on top of the sauce, followed by slices of Swiss and cheddar cheese.

  • Place the top half of the slider buns over the cheese to create sandwiches.

  • In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, poppy seeds (if using), onion powder, and garlic powder.

  • Brush the butter mixture over the tops of the slider buns.

  • Place the sliders in a baking dish and cover with foil.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through.

  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to let the tops get slightly crispy.

  • Serve the sliders warm and enjoy
